Montréal, October 1970. 12 years old Manon and her family are on the verge of exploding ; she and her younger brother Mimi will be placed in a foster home. Revolted Manon and inspired by actual political unrest, she kidnaps an old lady hoping to voice her right to choose her own future. Helped by her cousins Martin and Denis, she leaves town with Mimi and the old lady determined to find refuge where they would be free and happy.
